(I thought I was breaking it -- but I just wasn't prying into the part of the key enough to get it out.) Key Fob Chip. I recently swapped out both of my damaged '06 key housings for new ones. The old ones are long gone in the trash. I did not see a chip inside the factory cases but I guess they were in there because neither key will crank the truck now.
