New card still isn't enabled for use in a digital wallet, however. Contactless payments operate either through cards or through mobile apps and digital wallets. These payments typically use either radio-frequency identification (RFID) or near field. I have a contactless Wageworks commuter card from my employer that is still loaded with a hundred bucks or so. Would it be possible to use this card to purchase two Metro Cards? Or could I use this card to directly pay for fares for the both of us?
