Unfortunately, card readers can have problems with Windows 7. Your problem is that the card reader seems to be a "generic" model without any direct support to get it to work in Windows 7. I have a problem getting my Compact Flash Card Reader to work on my laptop. I've never had a problem on any other computers- I just plug it in and can view my files or pictures that I've stored on my Compact Flash card. BUT, i switched laptops, and when I plug the card reader in, it does recognize the hardware and says it's ready to use.
